I think Noel and Joelle over at The Owls are Not What They Seem are probably two of the coolest girls ever. EVER. Therefore, I am loathe to even put a picture of myself in the same post with pictures of Joelle.
However, I have been totally intrigued by her unexpected layering of varying lengths, textures, ruffles, etc., and wanting to try it myself. When I recently found a black, flow-y cardigan from Cynthia Rowley Cashmere, I knew it was just the item to help me bring a little Joelle into my very structured (i.e., boring) wardrobe.
Here I paired the cardigan with my favorite shrunken blazer and to add a little extra Joelle-ness, I threw in some extra ruffles with the blouse. I was really happy with how this look turned out--it was still very me, but just different enough to be interesting.
Thanks for the inspiration, Joelle!
My outfit: blazer - Marc Jacobs; cardigan - Cynthia Rowley Cashmere; silk floral blouse - Tory Burch; jean - Old Navy; flats - Diba
